Scruff Club - Creating Surfwear with Soul
Scruff Club began with a search for the surfwear we remembered, but could no longer find.
The fits were relaxed, the graphic were bold, and nothing felt too polished. T-shirts looked better after they had been worn, washed, travelled in and taken somewhere new. That slightly faded, lived-in feeling was part of the appeal.
After finishing university, I wanted to build something around the things I care about most: the outdoors, travelling, the coast and discovering new places and cultures. I kept coming back to the same frustration - it was difficult to find surfwear that still captured the attitude and visual energy of the late '90s and early 2000s.
So I started Scruff Club.
The brand is inspired by long days by the water, road trips, unfamiliar places and the freedom that comes with being outside. We design relaxed pieces with bold graphics, distressed details and a less polished feel - the kind of clothes that are made to be worn properly, not kept pristine.
Scruff Club is still at the beginning, but the idea is clear: make clothing inspired by old surfwear, with more soul, more character and a little more mess.
